There likely won't be enough time to address accessibility during treatment comprehensively enough to cover all the everyday ADLs & IADLs done at home. This is a way for your patients to continue learning after discharge so they are well-equipped to make wise choices about their home.
We've made this easy for your patients. Share the patient flyer with them, and they should be ready to go! They will need an email address and access to the Internet. If you'd like to help them through the process, instructions are below.
We provide your patients access to the first five courses, not the OT training course. Additionally, they will receive an invitation to join our community discussion area. However, they will not be able to view the OT-specific sections.
Your patients need to:
Visit go.universaldesign.org.
Click the "Got a flyer? Click here" button.
Click the "Get the Course Bundle" button.
Enter the patient access code from the patient flyer in the "Discount code" field.
Complete the registration.
We have provided your director or manager a PDF copy of our patient flyer. Ask them if you need a copy. If you need another copy, please write us at hello@universaldesign.org. Be sure to include the name of your facility in your email.
Consider helping your patient or their family log into the learning platform (go.universaldesign.org) to ensure they can access the content.
Take them through a few lessons to orient them to where to find the most relevant videos for immediate use before/after discharge and for future reference.
