Our home accessibility courses are ideal for practicing occupational therapists and OT students. Each course is designed at an introductory educational level, but experienced practitioners will benefit from the broad range of topics covered. They have been approved by AOTA for 10 contact hours / 1.0 CEUs of continuing education credit.
We currently offer commercial licensing to inpatient rehabilitation facilities. This license empowers occupational therapists to use our short, engaging videos to educate patients and families about home accessibility during treatment sessions. As you know, the rehabilitation journey doesn’t end when a patient is discharged. Many people live in homes that are inaccessible to their needs, leading to complications from falls/injuries, mental health decline, and more. On the flip side, better accessibility can improve quality of life and reduce perceived difficulties in daily activities by over 90%. For hospitals, unmet functional needs at home increase readmission odds by 48%.
Accessibility & usability of the home environment are often overlooked, impacting long-term health outcomes. Therapists are constrained by time during treatment sessions and can’t easily provide adequate education about home accessibility. This is where our Learn-Teach-Share System fills a gap for facilities: the ability to provide comprehensive information about home accessibility.
